These are exciting times for Fine Soft Day, with the imminent release of the epic new album, You Are Here.
After 12 months of writing, arranging, performing, recording, mixing, and drinking strong coffees, Fine Soft Day's new creation is now complete and ready to fly.
You Are Here is, unashamedly, a concept album. It tells a story of hope and humanity, weaving time and space. It takes listeners on a life enriching journey, from the plaintive first piano chords of River to the sweeping grandeur of the 14 minute epic, Roll Up The World Part 2.
A multitude of influences might be found in You Are Here. Elements of classic progressive rock, such as Pink Floyd, Genesis or Yes are present in tracks such as the eclectic instrumental Journey To Hear, the ominous Five Songs and the Moog and Mellotron-laden epics Roll Up The World Parts 1 and 2. Meanwhile, the shadow of Neil Young looms over the powerful country rock, rich harmonies and brooding violin of Grandfather. We'll leave you to decide on others.
